Rachel looks in the mirror and notices a mark on her cheek. Immediately her breath becomes shallow, her heart races, her chest tightens, and she feels nauseated. She checks the spot more closely, and sees that it's just a speck of dirt. She washes it off and tells herself firmly that she is fine - it wasn't the beginning of skin cancer, it was nothing. It's gone. She is okay.Although she keeps telling herself she is okay, hours later, Rachel still doesn't feel okay. What if seeing that spot was a "sign"? What is she is about to develop skin cancer? What if she already has skin cancer and she just hasn't seen it yet? Should she go see her doctor? Recurring thoughts of cancer hover in the back of her mind for the rest of the day. Weeks later she notices she is still spending an increased amount of time inspecting her skin for unusual marks or blemishes.

Panic disorders are not permanent! Life sometimes gives us problems and this is just one of them. Replacing the negative thoughts with positive affirmations helps us to change the process. Anxiety can be controlled. Medicines you buy from the stores will just give you temporary relief. But you actually change your thought process. Though panic is a part of life, when it becomes habitual to get stressed and live in fear of the unknown, you need to seek the help. In such situations, you need your friends. It is good to keep company and also engage in activities that will give you happiness.

Life is pleasant when we have sound health. Our mind can channelize so many positive thoughts that can make us lead a happy life. When things get tough, and if you are prone to worrying unnecessarily you must lighten up your lifestyle. Most of the people are becoming prone to anxiety attacks these days. People are also admitting their reaction to a situation which can be termed as a panic disorder. We can discuss this at length and also think of new approaches in medical science to know the actual cause of the problem. A person with the anxiety problem will need to assess what his priorities in his life are and then know how to deal with the situation.

A panic attack can be effectively cured if one is able to identify the trigger. What can cause a panic attack is a question that is debatable. People of any age including small children can get a panic disorder. The basic symptoms are breathlessness, a choking sensation, confusing thoughts and the feeling of being lost. Sometimes when a person is already into addictions, the panic attacks can be severe and hence it is required to go much more beyond self help and seek a proper medical treatment. Chronic worry can cause a person to constantly change decisions and also create negative patterns in the mind. Expecting the worst is another pessimistic attitude which can be changed with behavior therapy.

An anxiety attack is the cause of extreme panic or anxiety caused in a person. This can be due to distress or even provoked. Some people react to stress in this fashion. It is so very essential to control our mind. It is just about replacing it with thoughts. A therapist can actually help a person with anxiety disorder deal with the problem. Initially, one may face a lot of confusion but with confidence it is certainly possible to improve the way we think and behave. Some medicines may also be given initially to create a calming atmosphere around the person.

About 5% of the nation's population, at one time or another, experience a panic attack. As the term implies, people who have this disorder feels paralyzing terror when they are having an attack. This commonly afflicts teenagers as they are prone to stressful situations and they do not have sufficient knowledge on how they should handle stress. However, it can also happen to adult men and women. The attack can happen without a warning, even if the sufferer is not triggered. It can disable a person for some minutes. Fortunately, the body can only hold fight-or-flight fear for some minutes that is why normally, medical attention is not needed.
